Per the previous code comment, we can now use shred to zero volumes efficiently on modern distros. Let's do that. A thread on openstack-dev (http://lists.openstack.org/pipermail/openstack-dev/2017-August/121301.html) confirms that all our supported distros now use a new enough version of shred.
